During the meeting, the ambassador expressed his readiness to work with Greek authorities to identify practical areas of cooperation, strengthen institutional partnerships and encourage greater private-sector engagement.

He said Nigeria remained committed to advancing mutually beneficial relations in line with its foreign policy priorities, which the statement described as the four Ds: Demography, Development, Diaspora and Democracy.

The ceremony was attended by senior Greek officials, including representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Presidency and other government institutions.

Ugwuanyi’s assumption of diplomatic duties provides an opportunity for both countries to explore stronger economic partnerships and expand cooperation in areas of shared interest.

Nigeria and Greece have maintained diplomatic relations over the years, with opportunities for engagement in trade, investment, maritime affairs, education and people-to-people exchanges.

The Nigerian Government is expected to pursue further diplomatic engagement aimed at translating the longstanding relationship into practical outcomes for both countries.
